Key Poses

Hi Guys, I finally finished putting the photos together.

So these are just key poses for reference.

It starts out with "the boy" drawing, and his father disapproves, so he sends the boy out to do his chores.

3rd image shows the boy walking off.
4th image shows a "bully" throwing a rock at the boy.

and so on....you can follow it with the storyboard that Lucie has created. She will scan them in so we can follow the story easier.

Help with animation

Hey Joel Here,

I think that we should at some point, maybe tomorrow, we should rent out a camera from the cage and take some pictures of some poses that the character(s) we are animating should/might make. Sound like a plan?

Story

Opens up on an island.

Starts to zoom in where there are village huts. In one hut, we are introduced to a shy and timid boy.

He does something to upset his father, so his father tells him to leave.
(what did he do to make his father upset?) (ideas? i.e. he's not doing what he's suppose to do? Like farming, but instead he's drawing?)

His father points to the forest, so the boy took it literally. The boy then walks out and sees his peers teasing him, then one of the tribal boys throws a rock at him. The boy does not do anything, he keeps on walking, the boy is sadden and feeling angry at himself, his father, his peers, the world.

Walking towards the forest he kicks the rock that was thrown at him. Suddenly, he hears noises brushing through the trees and echo noises from the forest. The forest is dark, ominous, secluded to his tribe. Scared, the boy picks up the rock he was kicking and throws it to where he hears the noise. The rock hits a tree, makes a spark, then ricochets onto the ground. Walking towards the tree, the boy suddenly not scared anymore, picks up the rock and starts carving out a design that he sees in the tree. Out comes a mask, he then wears it. He starts running quick through the forest and scraping the rock against each tree that passes him which in turns makes beautiful sparks and colors starts flying everywhere. He's running and sees a ledge, but then he turns around and realize that he sees his home. He looks forwards and see's a ledge that leads somewhere, but doesn't know. He choses to runs faster towards the ledge. The boy's body language now speaks of him as confident and joy that he found his sanctuary. He jumps off which shows the moon and the waterfall. He makes it in the waterfall while the mask falls behind him like a feather. The camera zooms into the mask...having our logo and a black screen. End.

That is what I have so far.....if you guys want to contribute or alter the story, please feel free to do so!

Stencil/Logo

Hey Eddy, Joel, and Cynthia!

Collaborating ideas and finding the time to actually get together outside of class is hard. I figured blogging here and sharing our thoughts and posting our thoughts/concerns will have us on the same page.

Here are some discussions that came up:

1. What should the boy look like? Character or human?
2. What should our logo look like for stencil purpose? Should we set that aside till the end of our project or incorporate that into our project?

Any questions, concerns, ideas, inspiration, PLEASE feel free to post it on here. Remember we only meet once a week, so it's a good idea to be in the same book, on the same page. Good luck and hope to see all our progress for next week!
